Audubon Women's Medical Associates is now offering a solution to unwanted hair on women as well as men. The Light Sheer laser system has proven to be more effective and less costly than electrolysis and waxing. These procedures are a life long cost and inconvenience, whereas laser will provide more permanent hair reduction.

The length of a laser session may be a few minutes to an hour depending of the size of the area being treated. Because the laser tends to treat hair follicles that are in an active growth phase, more than one treatment is required. Our patients have been quite pleased with their outcome.

We have several experienced technicians in our office that can accommodate your busy schedule with evening and weekend hours. Fall and winter months are excellent times for treatment due to decreased sun exposure. Call Audubon Women's Medical Associates at 639-4034 for your FREE CONSULTATION to inform you about the procedure, risks and benefits.

Frequently asked questions -Key benefits

How does laser work, is it permanent?

Light energy is absorbed by the pigment melanin, and then transformed into heat, thus disabling hairs actively growing. Not all hairs are in active phase, therefore, it's necessary to treat an area an average of three to five times. There is no hair removal method guaranteed permanent. Laser treatments have been FDA approved for long term-hair reduction, meaning after treatment hair is reduced by 70-90%. Hair that does grow back is finer and lighter. Hair reduction does vary among individuals and has been known to last for many years.

Why laser-am I a good candidate?

Laser is quicker, less painful, has no risk of infections and is more successful than any other hair removal procedure. Laser is designed to be safe for all skin types including Mediterranean, Blacks and Hispanic descents. Red and white hair has no pigment at the root and cannot be treated.

Before, during and after treatment?

Tanning should be avoided as well as tweezing and waxing several weeks before treatments. Shaving is okay. The procedures last between five minutes to one hour. You may experience some discomfort, if needed we will apply a topical anesthetic following your treatment. You may experience some redness and minor swelling which will fade in a few hours. You may return to normal activity immediately following treatment.

Cost

We are committed to making laser hair removal affordable. Small areas cost from $150-$300. Large areas between $300-$800. We accept Master Card, Visa, checks and cash.
